One rainy afternoon I headed up his way and we met at a local pub. After a short drive to the property where his cars are stored I finally got to see his beautiful collection. The three cars are safely stored away in a large garage with a bunch of other vehicles, so simply walking in was a treat. There was an old Jaguar, a Rolls Royce, a Citroen SM and a rare Renault Alpine. But it was Ian's cars I went to see, and I wasn't disappointed. The battery of the green 1963 Ford Classic was nearly dead, but with a quick boost it fired up. He pulled it outside for me to get a proper look.
After an enjoyable ride we got to a small town called Downham. There are no road markings and few moderns touches, which allows you to feel like you've stepped back in time. With the car parked at the perfect angle (I'm pretty sure he did it on purpose!), I was able to grab some great shots.
